Murphy presuntamente sufrió un paro cardíaco completo y su marido, Simon Monjack, inmediatamente llamó a los paramédicos para salvar a su esposa.
Anunciaron que llegó muerta al hospital Cedars-Sinai Medical Center en Los Ángeles después de que los paramédicos y los médicos no pudieron reactivar la actriz de "8 Mile".
